Join BYU Cougarette coaches Stacy Bills and Morgan St. Pierre and the BYU Cougarettes for the best dance camp of the year! This camp is designed to prepare those who may have a desire to audition for and become part of the twenty-six-time National Champion BYU Cougarette Dance Team.
Train under the direction of BYU's nationally recognized dancers, including former and current BYU Cougarettes who have been on many of those successful national award-winning teams. You will receive quality instruction in all aspects of dance including technique, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, character and pom. Find out firsthand what it takes to become a BYU Cougarette and learn how to prepare to succeed at the college level.
Dancers will be split into intermediate AND advanced groupings in different locations.
INTERMEDIATE: Designed for dancers at an intermediate to early-advanced level. Training builds upon foundational technique with increased complexity, including flexibility, basic and stylized triple turns, center fouetté combinations, and more challenging leap-style jumps. Dancers learn jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and sidelines combinations while continuing to develop performance quality, teamwork, and confidence.
ADVANCED: Designed for advanced dancers seeking to refine technique and artistry. Also, for dancers interested in auditioning for Cougarettes in the upcoming years. Dancers focus on advanced flexibility, multiple and stylized turns (Should be able to execute 4 pirouettes), complex center turn sequences, elevated jump and leap execution, and intricate combinations in jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and sidelines. This level emphasizes strength, precision, performance quality, and versatility in a supportive but challenging environment.
